Year: 2024

For Salone del Mobile week 2024, IED set up a campsite on the soccer field of the Cappelli Savorelli sports center in Milan, hosting up to three hundred design students from around the world free of charge. It was called The Glitch Camp, and each of its forty tents bore the name of a figure from the history of Italian design, from Gio Ponti to Nanda Vigo, from Bruno Munari to Cini Boeri, all the way to Massimo and Lella Vignelli, written with a number on a dichroic sign.

We produced the forty-six signs: clear acrylic panels with dichroic film, names and numbers printed in black and white. Dichroic film changes color with the angle of the sun and the point of view, so the glitch in the name was made by daylight, on the tent and on the grass. At night they were lit by the lantern hanging from the same pole. Along the paths, signs with arrows pointed to the rows, mounted on the right or left of the pole depending on the direction.
