How to make a stencil

Stenciling is a decorating technique that involves transferring a design onto a surface through a perforated template. You can use stenciling to personalize T-shirts, bags, walls, furniture and more.

We use the laser cutting to make stencils of all shapes and sizes, with a professional and durable result. Laser cutting is a process that uses a high-intensity laser beam to engrave or cut various materials, such as cardboard, plastic, wood, metal and fabric.

To make a stencil with laser cutting, you must follow these steps:

  1. Choose the design you want to reproduce with the stencil. You can draw it by hand, use a graphics program, or download an image from the Internet. Make sure the design fits the surface you want to decorate and has good contrast between the parts you want to cut out and those you want to leave behind.
  2. Transfer the design to a vector file, which is a format that allows you to easily change the size and colors of the design without losing quality. You can use programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw or Inkscape to create or convert your vector file.
  3. Choose the material on which to make the stencil from those in our catalog. You can use cardboard, plastic, wood, metal , depending on the effect you want to achieve and the strength you need. Remember that the material must also be thin enough not to deform with use. If you are in doubt you can ask us for advice!
  4. Send us the vector file through This Page
  5. Wait for the email quote and proceed to purchase through our ecommerce. You can choose to pick up your stencil in our workshop or receive it with shipment
  6. Start painting! You can use spray paint, markers, tempera or other colors to transfer the design to the surface you want. Secure the stencil with tape or removable glue and dab the color on with a sponge or brush.
